Mr President

Just to show another side to my artistic style of photography. This montage was formed from a series of urban graffiti photographs taken in NYC, Chicago and Washington DC in the weeks before the election of president Obama. It is selling well in a limited number of art shops in America

Back in the UK

I will be back in the UK London 22nd-27th Jan and Edinburgh 27th Jan-early Feb. If you would like to book a Fashion Portfolio shoot, please contact me on photobyurban@gmail.com Idon't intend to do many shoots when I am back and am quite fussy. However if the right shoots come along I will give it my all.
Thanks

Pure but Simple

The onset of digital photography has been a challenge for professional fashion photographers. Now anyone with a cheap digital SLR can call themselves a photographer. It has certainly added to the challenge, however there is still a market for the top end photographer.

If you are thinking about getting a portfolio done, ask yourself one thing...what do you want out of this. How important is it that I look stunning or will second best do. Some guys and girls need to look stunning for their Job prospects. If you are working in the Fashion industry I would urge you to consider spending some money for a professional shoot. It's a small business and people talk...

Photo editors who look through new profiles/portfolios are notorious individuals. They are ruthless and need to be. If someone is looking at hundreds of new portfolios a day you are much more likely to stand out if the images stand out. Do one thing for me. Look at the images on this site and honestly compare them to your current portfolio shoot. If they are in the same league great. If not you might want to give me an email on fotobyurban@gmail.com to let me carry out a shoot. In the USA I charge $200 per hour including a edited CD of professional images. In the UK I charge £150 per hour on the same deal.

I am pretty busy for the winter doing a single commission that is nothing to do with Fashion Photography but should be back doing fashion portfolio work come the spring.

Making you look your best

You would never guess that this shoot was done at an hours notice as a favour for one of my colleagues who came down with the Flu. I usually like to plan my shoots and discuss with the model what they are expecting and hoping for. Still sometimes you just need to go with your heart and years of experience. I love a challenge and will do my absolute best to make you look a million dollars

Just love the medium of Black and White Photography

Given the bitter cold winter that the states has been having there has been little chance for outdoor photography. This shot was part of a portfolio for a new model from upstate NYC. She brought her boyfriend along for the shoot. I could not help but use him to frame this stunning shot.

One for the New Year

While I was back in the UK over christmas I carried out a couple of portfolio shoots in London.
The models were over the moon with the results and I am hoping to get further agency work in 2009.

If you are looking for inovative quality rather than ordinary snaps then come to me. I have a passion for photography and absolutely to see poor quality photography of stunning looking models either males or females.
I carry a whole range of photographic equitment in the UK and the USA from Bowens studio lights, Canon Speedlight syatems with remote flash, defusers, you name it. I will produce stunning results and hopefully you will be impressed.
